Like I said before, I’m a working mobile RV Technician. I can’t count the number of times I’ve driven hundreds of miles to help someone only to find that they didn’t check a fuse or turn a valve, or they weren’t operating something properly.

In most cases it was because they weren’t given enough
good information about their RV to begin with!

Yes, most RVs come with owner manuals, but trying to understand them can be difficult and confusing. If you purchased from an RV Dealer, you probably had a 1 or 2 hour orientation, but you likely forgot most of what they showed you!

Don’t feel bad... you’re in good company! Most people retain only about 20% of what they’re shown in such a short period of time, and the dealers typically show you only how to operate things, not what to do if they don’t work.

Late one Sunday evening, I received a frantic call from a family camping in the hills about 2 hours from my home. They were packing up to return to the city when they discovered their slide would not go back in. They were stuck! They told me they had tried EVERYTHING and asked if I would please come to help them. When I arrived at the unit, it didn’t take long to find a blown fuse. (I guess they hadn’t checked everything). I changed the fuse, the slide was retracted and they were on their way. The unfortunate part was that my bill to them was $224.70 (and I even cut my travel charge in half because I felt bad for them!) You see? For the sake of a 10 cent fuse and a little knowledge, they could have solved their problem themselves (and I wouldn’t have missed my Sunday supper!)

Another time, an experienced full-time RVer called me because his hot water heater wasn’t working. Again, I drove for over an hour only to find that the water heater bypass valve was in the wrong position. A simple turn of one valve and he had hot water, but it cost him $167.47 for the lesson.

A lady called me one day and said that she didn’t have any A/C power on one side of her Motorhome. Most RVs have a device called a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt). I’m sure you’ve seen them in your bathroom or kitchen at home. They have a reset and a test button on them. Well, it’s not uncommon to find that the one in your RV might control up to 3 or 4 outlets, as hers did. A simple push of the reset button and her Motorhome leapt back to life - at a cost of $133.79

I could go on and on with more examples, but I'm sure you see my point.
For over 13 years now I've seen people making the same mistakes that
cost them nothing but time and money, not to mention panic,
frustration, and inconvenience!

There are other videos out there in the RV universe that are done by RV Salesmen
or Dealers... NOT RV Technicians!
So I guess if you need help with simple things like
leveling your unit or hooking up your water hose, those videos might work for you.
But if you want to know how to operate and possibly even correct a problem on your unit,

THIS is the video you need!
